Goodwood is very nearby at the edge of the Downs. It is a stunning house and well worth visiting. For horse racing there is the famous Goodwood Week in July/August and several more relaxed evening race meetings in the flat racing season. For motor enthusiasts there is The Festival of Speed in summer or the more retro Revival Meeting in September.
Around Sussex
Taking a break from the hustle and bustle of urban living doesn’t mean leaving civilisation completely behind
(unless that’s what you want of course).
While we are very much in the West Sussex countryside, we are also within easy reach of the sea with some of the finest beaches Sussex has to offer, and are close to good road and rail links if you want explore a little further afield.
Arundel Castle (The Historic home of the Dukes of Norfolk) and the nearby Catholic Arundel Cathedral are only five miles away.
West Wittering beach is about half an hour away, it is a delight to visit and there are great walks around the sand dunes at the East Head entrance to Chichester Harbour. From the beach you get superb views back towards Chichester and of the Downs beyond.
Windsurfing and other water sports are easily arranged through the local surfing shops near the beach.
